Lisa Kelly earned her B.M. Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Florida (UNF), where she studied with Bunky Green, Jack Petersen, Bruce Silva, Don Zentz and Bill Prince. As a student, she won many awards, including the first Mullikin/Matteson Scholarship, several scholarships from Jazz Societies and the National Endowment for the Arts, five Down Beat Magazine student music awards (1 Best Original Composition, 4 Best Jazz Vocalist), and was the vocal winner with the 2000/IAJE Sisters in Jazz Combo. As the featured vocalist with UNF JE I, Kelly was featured on 4 UNF CD recordings and performed on several European tours. After graduation, Kelly taught music theory at LaVilla Middle SOTA, music theory and vocal jazz at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. She has taught at jazz camps (including the North Florida Music Camp at UNF) and was the first to present a vocal jazz clinic for both FVA (Florida Vocal Assoc.) and FBA (Florida Bandmasters Assoc,) at the annual FMEA (Florida Music Educators Assoc.) Music Convention in Tampa, Fl, 2007, so well attended that she was invited to present again in 2008. Since 2001, Kelly has also been the featured vocalist for the FMEA Jazz Band Reading Session. She is currently teaching private voice at the First Coast Community Music School, is a frequent guest artist/clinician and adjudicator, and maintains a heavy performance schedule. She is a member of FVA, JEN and FJE.

JB Scott was the first graduate of the acclaimed University of North Florida Jazz Program, earning a B.A. Degree in Jazz Studies, playing in the UNF JE I under the legendary Rich Matteson. He then earned his M.S. Degree in Music Ed. from Florida International University (FIU) while studying with the famous Arturo Sandoval. Scott performed around the world with the Ringling Bros/Barnum & Bailey Circus, played for three years in New Orleans as the trumpeter/musical director of the famed Dukes of Dixieland, and as a free-lance artist in professional jazz ensembles and for the Walt Disney Land Parks. He is now a tenured Assoc. Professor of Jazz at UNF, teaching applied trumpet, other music related courses, and directing the award winning UNF JEI. Since 2003, Scott has been the director of the annual UNF Koger Jazz Festival and of the acclaimed UNF Jazz Concert Series. He is a YAMAHA artist/clinician, with frequent performance presentations and workshops that have included the former IAJE (International Assoc. of Jazz Educators) Convention and the 2008 FMEA/FBA Tampa Convention. Scott also served as the 2009 Florida Allstate Jazz Band Director and the 2009 District XIX Jazz Band Director. He is a member of FBA, JEN and FJE.

Believing strongly in the perpetuation of Jazz through the mentoring of our youth, Lisa Kelly & JB Scott have reached thousands of middle school, high school and college age students as teachers and much in demand artist/clinicians. They are popular guest artist/clinicians and often serve as judges and adjudicators critiquing solo to jazz ensembles and regularly conduct educational vocal/trumpet clinics, rehearsing and performing with small groups to big bands with high school to college music programs. Their fun, informative, and interacting “Jazz For Kids” concerts have reached thousands of children and have been included in the community outreach programs of several major jazz festivals.
